THUNDERBIRDS UPDATE - RAIN OR SHINE

Posted on Oct 14 2009 - 2:50pm

TO Croton's Cub Scouts PACK 28 parents who are going to CUB SCOUT Thunderbirds GAMES:

Please read the below & attached carefully.

*** DO NOT BE CONCERNED IF IT RAINS - looks like there MAY be showers (NOT RAIN) - if it showers, we get a little wet. Showers never hurt anyone. The games will be on - RAIN OR SHINE. Might turn into a scouting Woodstock - less the unscoutinglike behavior. The Scouts will be prepared for rain if it does occur. Managing and embracing precipitation is a big part of Scouting. Just a little commentary.

GEOLOGY FIELD TRIP IS ON - EVEN IF IT RAINS

Posted on Oct 14 2009 - 2:34pm

Webelos parents:

Below are the specifics for the WEBELOS GEOLOGY FIELD TRIP.

**** THIS EVENT IS ON - RAIN OR SHINE. LOOKS LIKE THERE MAY BE SOME SHOWERS, BUT NO RAIN. WORST CASE, WE'LL MEET IN THE PAVILION AT THE PARK, which is right by the parking lot. The place where you see people using the grills inside the shelter.

THUNDERBIRDS

Posted on Oct 8 2009 - 2:48pm

To all PACK 28 parents who signed-up for the 2009 CUB SCOUT Thunderbirds Games:

Below and attached are the logistics.

WHAT: The Thunderbird games is a 24 hour CUB SCOUT event which includes over 30 outdoor games (or stations) held in the main field at Croton Point Park. The games include amongst many other cools things: an obstacle course, a giant rubber band tennis ball launcher, archery, rope bridges, triple tug of war, rock wall climbing, and much more. We will be joining over 4,000 other Cub Scouts and family members from throughout the Westchester Putnam area in outdoor activities and feats of skill as well as participating in an overnight campout. The pack will be camping overnight at the best site in the camping area. The evening will include dinner, a Scout performance (skits, music, Indian lore) and fireworks. We will end the evening with some astronomy. http://www.wpcbsa.org/Events/#Thunderbird
